By Ericka Link, Marketing Intern
As my fourth year at Elon University drew to a close, I actively pursued internships. With a major in communication design and a minor in professional sales, I knew my opportunities were boundless. The world was my oyster, and Andersen Sterilizers quickly became my pearl.
I received a dual internship role serving with the marketing and sales team. Even though I quickly fell in love with sales, I found marketing to be all-encompassing to my professional growth.
Working closely with marketing I’ve developed skills based on experience through crafting promotional material, managing social media campaigns, and analyzing market trends based on clientele. Whereas sales have taken me to heights such as prospecting new customers through cold calling, email solicitation, ZOHO CRM, and Key Operational Training.
What truly sets Andersen Sterilizers apart is its identity as a small, family-owned company. The company’s values and morals are not just corporate jargon but are reflected in the products they sell. This alignment has reinforced my belief in the importance of ethical business practices and sustainability in healthcare, helping me see that my personal faith at work in a professional work setting can co-exist.
During my internship, I have had the privilege of building relationships with nearly all employees, from executives to technicians. These connections have not only enriched my professional experience but have also fostered a sense of belonging and camaraderie. I look forward to maintaining these connections long after my time here ends, as I have been inspired and encouraged by everyone around me.
At Andersen Sterilizers, there is a culture of continuous learning and personal development. Each team member embodies a spirit of mentorship and collaboration, creating an environment where everyone is motivated to grow professionally and personally. This supportive atmosphere has empowered me more than my coworkers are aware of.
In conclusion, my internship at Andersen Sterilizers has been a transformative experience, where I have not only honed my skills in marketing and sales but also gained invaluable insights into the healthcare industry. The company’s commitment to excellence, ethical standards, and fostering meaningful relationships has left a mark on my journey, and for this, I am eternally grateful.
